Pioneer Catchment & Landcare Group assists schools across the Mackay region in fulfilling their landcare goals and projects. Below are some examples of activities we can assist with:

• Advice and management assistance to school for revegetation or restoration projects. An example is the Mackay Christian College Vines Creek Wetland Restoration Project.
• School clean-up days or events. PCL has been facilitating a Great Northern Clean-up event with St Patrick’s College for many years now.
• Schools tree planting days. On grounds or larger events such as Schools National Tree Day.
• Nursery activities. Native plant propagation activities, which are suitable for most age groups. PCL has hosted many groups at the nursery from kindy classes to high school groups.   
• School native gardens plant selection and planning as well as access to free native tubestock from the Mackay Regional Council.
